Our Story
Fueled by Wood, Fire, and a Love for Sharing BBQ
I’m Steve Petrotto, and Smoking Meats BBQ started the same way a lot of great stories do—around a backyard fire. What began as me tinkering with various smokers and sharing plates with family and friends has grown into something bigger than I ever imagined. I’ve always had a passion for food, but barbecue pulled me in deeper than anything else. The craft, the patience, the way smoke and fire can transform simple cuts of meat into something extraordinary—it hooked me.
Along the way, I launched my YouTube channel, Smoking Meats BBQ, where I share cooks, techniques, and plenty of experiments straight from the pit. It’s become a place where people who love barbecue—whether they’re beginners or seasoned pitmasters—can learn, laugh, and connect. The channel has been an extension of my journey, letting me bring others along for the ride while I chase that perfect cook.
As the channel grew, so did the requests: “Steve, can you cater my event?” “Can you bring that brisket to my wedding?” “Would you cook for our company party?” That’s how the catering side of Smoking Meats BBQ was born. Today, I get to take my passion for barbecue on the road, feeding people not just food, but an experience.
When you book Smoking Meats BBQ, you’re not getting cookie-cutter catering—you’re getting the same craft and care I put into every video, every brisket, every rack of ribs. I run a traditional offset smoker, fueled by wood and fire, and every bite reflects hours of dedication. From smoked brisket and pulled pork to scratch-made pit beans, slaw, and mac and cheese, I cook the food I love to eat and share.
At the end of the day, it’s not just about barbecue—it’s about bringing people together. Whether I’m behind the pit, at a wedding, or filming for YouTube, my goal is the same: make people smile through good food and good company. That’s the heart of Smoking Meats BBQ.
Our Mission is simple. Smoke Meat Every Day.
